Mast Rollers for Forklift

Mast Roller - The mast of the lift truck is an important piece of the lift truck's framework. These lift truck vehicles are large industrial equipment which assist businesses raise a transfer supplies and merchandise.

The vertical assembly responsible for raising or lowering cargo is called the mast. A forklift mast consists of interlocking rails that provide sideways steadiness. These rails are guided by rollers or brushings.

Utilizing metal plates to help move merchandise, the masts are driven by hydraulic mechanisms. Hydraulics is the transmission of power which utilizes pressurized fluid, normally oil. Hydraulic cylinders that link directly to the lift truck motor are responsible for driving the mast, causing it to lower, lift or tilt cargo. The pressurized oil drives the cylinder piston to move in a linear motion, or in strokes. The mast is usually operated via a lever inside the cab or located in the area of the lift truck which houses the lift truck control parts and the operator.

A swing mast defines a forklift truck using a mast that could rotate in a ninety degree angle in one direction. This particular design enables the swing mast to operate in aisles which are less than 6 feet wide.
